This rating system is similar to that of Goodreads whereby 5 Stars is the highest rating and 1 Star the lowest. Occasionally, half stars may be used for books not quite befitting the ratings below.
Five Stars: This book was amazing and couldn’t be faulted. It would be shelved under favourites and highly recommended to others.
Four Stars: This book was really very good and would be recommended to others but didn’t quite reach the Five Star rating.
Three Stars: This book was decent enough to be enjoyable and likeable but I wanted something more. Recommendations depend on the book.
Two Stars: Whilst this book had potential and some redeeming qualities it wasn’t great and I wouldn’t recommend it.
One Star: This book was difficult to read or I DNFed (did not finish) it. I didn’t enjoy reading it and wouldn’t recommend it.
